This was always on my top 5 list: the fear of death aspect is deeper than you'd think
For a long time, ever since I saw this on TV 40 years ago, it's been one of my favorites. A. couple things I want to mention: one David's fear of being touched I never understood until the pandemic hit. Now we all fear it. And the fear of death. It's something many of us have, but why fear it when you're 16 (even though the actor was 26)? Well obviously it's more likely to be closer when you're older, but it could happen anytime.
I think his fear comes from not believing in an afterlife at all. I personally do, but not the Heaven thing, the Alan Watts Eastern thing. Still I fear it; it's a matter of not thinking about it and/or accepting it life the to be or not to be speech.

Anyway I was at the film location once and made this short video of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyBfugCQhrU
