Earlier robot scene missing from movie

Why is the scene about the earlier robot prototypes missing in the AMC showings of Creation of the Humanoides? Here is a video of the missing scene:

Thanks for responding. I was wondering if this first segment of the movie was considered to have inferior production value compared to the rest of the movie. I have only seen the edited movie on AMC.

OH MY GOD, you are a genius. I just watched this. It was on AMC yesterday and I taped it. I said to myself "where is the opening with all the old forms of robots"?

And you provided the link and I do thank you.

reply

Happy to help. I am glad AMC shows obscure sci-fi movies but I don't under why they have to edit movies.

reply

I wish they would air The Bermuda Depths with Connie Selleca and other great movies, intact with no editing.

One can only hope.

Thanks again

Get the DVD, which is complete, unedited and with terrific sound and picture.

AMC has been a disaster since it started running commercials in 1999, cutting and editing movies, not running them in their proper aspect ratios, bleeping language, etc., etc., etc. It's gotten worse, not better, and its public-be-damned attitude is more evident than ever. Why does anyone even bother to watch this inept, screw-you waste of cable space?

This is all the more a shame because 15-20 years ago AMC was an excellent channel, the first to run movies widescreen, uninterrupted, with intelligent hosts making intelligent introductions. Now it's run by arrogant, ignorant morons who treat their audience accordingly.

wow, you are certainly articulate in your opinions.

And you happened to be completely correct.

reply

Really? I thought it was one of my least articulate rants. But then AMC will do that to you!

What you said was true about AMC .

The Second Bulker Robot relative was in a " Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea " episode 'The indestrutibule Man ' square headed robot

There was one that looked like Mr. McTavish, a robot invented by Professor Pepperwinkle in a last-season Superman episode.

I saw part of this film on IFC (another once commerical-free channel now with ads) yesterday (5/12/12), and their print was very fuzzy. But as far as I saw the film was intact, though interrupted every ten minutes. I still say get the excellent DVD.

hobnob, we must have been separated at birth. Your post took the words right out of my mouth. I thought "exactly!" then saw your handle attached and thought "of course!" Used to be a big AMC fan, taped many movies from there "back in the day." Have never looked at it once since they started running commercials during the movies. What a shame. At least we still have TCM.

And, yes, the DVD of CotH is worth every penny. Great flick.

surfink, the more we've talked, the more I think we do share the same affinities and opinions on a lot of things. I was surprised to receive notification of your post here right after our confab over on Kyuketsu dokuro-sen/The Living Skeleton. Glad to know there's a fellow soul of equally solid views out there!

Or is it a case of being "in rapport" as far as movies go??!! (Closest thing to a COTH 'bot I could find.)

Well, as the leader of The Order of Flesh and Blood said, "Gentlemen! Let's behave like human beings!"

Will try, fiero. But I still think getting the DVD is your best bet -- inexpensive, complete, and easily the best picture and sound quality around.

Check around for the best prices, though I haven't actually seen them vary very much at different sites. But a dollar here or there....
