I read some of the reviews and i could not disagree more. This film was unwatchable. It was so boring and some of the dialouge scenes were so long and unintersting that I cannot understand why some are calling this a "hidden jem" and the like. I love 50-60-70 sci fi and am a fan of alot of the b movies and MST3K type movies but this one was horrible. You want a hidden jem? tryIt conquered the world" or Devil girl from Mars"
The acting is wooden and the directing static. But there are some great ideas in this movie and the overall story is an interesting one. If ever there was a film that was screaming for a proper treatment in a remake, it's this one.
I tried watching it on AMC at 4:30 in the morning, and it was brutal. I pretty much missed everything after they stabbed the one guy, and he realized he was a robot. Eyes open again, and I think it was Dr Raven saying some line and then the end of the film. Was there anything to see after he got stabbed?
Well yes you missed the entire point of the flick ... that the human would soon die out because of the radiation and that the robots were perfecting the duplication process to save mankind. The discussed the process of the duplication and how they perfected it including self-procreation. They also pointed out that humans are just flesh and blood machines and that the soul is simply the memory of the faith of having one.

Thanks. I appreciate that. I will try and watch it again next time it's on. I don't have dvr, my vcr died long ago, and trying to stay awake at that hour is just tough. The movie seemed interesting, but there was nothing more than dialogue, and no matter how good, it just couldn't keep me awake.
Finally got a dvr after posting after my last viewing. Caught the end finally. Still long winded conversations, but it was solid for what it was. Interesting that they made Maxine thinner, mentioning she was once plump before death.
This is a movie for those few people who can still think. If all you want in a film is chase scenes, explosions and special effects, this film is not for you.
I actually found this movie surprisingly well done. At first when I saw Conky from Pee Wee's playhouse I figured I was in store for some vintage sci-fi camp but the dialog was impressive and the ideas full of subtext like good sci-fi should be. I found the static look of the "clickers" rather effective. I suppose modern audiences needing non-stop lasers won't appreciate it.
I never watched Pee Wee's Playhouse but people talk as if The Creation of the Humanoids stole "Conky" from Pee-Wee. TCOTH came first by over 20 years. Pee-Wee is the one who swiped Conky.
That aside, this movie may be a bit static but it's definitely not dull. It has some cool ideas and telling insights into human beings, and its dialogue has depth and humor. The offensive term "clickers" is ingenious, for obvious reasons.
The posters who say that this movie isn't for people who need non-stop lasers and explosions and so on are absolutely right. I couldn't disagree with the OP more. I also think someone should tell him the proper spelling of the word "gem".
Also, one of the "classics" he cited, It Conquered The World, has very long stretches of boring, useless dialogue (not lost on the MST3K folks who snored loudly throughout several of those stretches) and features one of the silliest "monsters" in the history of cinema despite Maltin describing it as "Paul Blaisdell's finest creation" (compared to what, I'd like to know). Then again, after reading the OP's post, replete with poor grammar and non-spelling ("dialouge", "unintersting", "i", and the brilliant "jem"), it's difficult to take him seriously at all.
Life's too short to waste my time on someone who'll just throw it away.
True, but at its core It Conquered the World is at least fun -- including Blaisdell's notorious Venusian pickle, or cucumber, or carrot, or whatever vegetable various writers have called it. (Personally, I prefer Corman's crab monsters.) So is Humanoids -- fun and intriguing, if given half a chance.
As for the OP, the quality of his opinions is mirrored by that of his writing.
I am part way through watching it on Youtube and I have to say it is surprisingly deep. Certainly better than many high budget movies which call themeselves "Science Fiction".
I love this movie! Its eerie atmosphere and strange landscape perfectly compliment the story. The whole thing with the "Flesh and Blooders" is fascinating. Cragis is larger than life His uniform is very cool. The ending revelations are terrific.
