Yes, I saw this movie probably soon after it came out. While the critics panned it, and it didn't get much play, it still plays eerily in my head. Of any movie made about drugs or addicts, this was to me one of the most penetrating I've ever seen. While other movies of greater build and stature, "legs" I believe is the current appellation, have gladly passed from my memory this dreary, sometimes awkward film stays with me. The character's utter weakness right at the point where he is trying to summon up the courage to do something, to act, gives me the feeling of someone mired in a complex jungle of fear and because he is so debilitated from drugs, he can't answer his own call to a greater self.

He speaks of and to a common feeling that moves within each of us from time to time, of a paralysis that can infect us, and if we/I play to that fear, it can depending upon who and what we are drag us down; and if we are as debilitated as the character in this movie is, it can destroy us.

Some movies just aren't fun.
