Questions about a scene from the film.

What is the purpose of the scene when we're inside her white airy bedroom/studio? I don't understand what goes on there. Is it her home? There are so many people around, there's no privacy.

Why does her lover just disappear so quickly? Why is she wearing that awful wig and why does she suddenly tear it off and leave?

It is her home. The other girl in her house is her friend and maid, the two odd-looking guys are her musician and lyricist. Her lover leaves quickly because he has a very busy life and the most basic explanation for why she took the wig off is simply because she was tired of wearing it, but it is up to interpretation considering how she's very superstitious and how everything she does seems to have a deeper meaning.

Since shortly after this scene she goes outside for the first time unaccompanied, my thoughts are that she took the wig off to be facing the world all by herself, without any protection or social disguise, because in death, nothing matters, certainly not fashion, hence the " I'm wearing black and I'm going out alone. Ashen, pale and alone. " monologue.

Or it could be that the wig doesn't match with the hat she's wearing.

You're not a vegetarian, are you? I've never met a vegetarian I liked.

Thank you for your interesting thoughts. I now see that she wanted freedom to be herself without people from her past telling her what to do or think.
