What ship?

This may only be a bit of unimportant trivia but can anyone tell me which P & O vessels featured in this film. I believe one was ORONSAY and the other (perhaps) was ORSOVA.

Just found your post from August 2008 - I don't look at this site very often !
Yes, Orient Line Oronsay/Orsova, not sure which without looking up a couple of other sites. I think they were still sailing from Tilbury at that time, not Southampton. My uncle served on both as a steward just prior to the shooting dates, on the Australia run, out via the Cape (after Suez) and back across the Pacific and the Panama Canal. Can't do that now !

I think it may have been ORION.

If you watch the film, the name can be seen but not clearly.
It does look like five letters though.
Orion also had a buff hull and was scapped in 1963 after a long career.

Note the "Welsh Hat" on top of the funnel.
I'm not sure that Orsova or Oronsay had those.

I sailed on Arcadia, Himalaya and Chusan in the early 1970's.

English migrants to Australia used to call the Orsova the "Arsova."

"We came out hear on the Arsova & we've been arsova ever since" they would quip.
