Is the broad in the department store a man?

Ever since I first saw this film on TV, I've always thought the chick working in the department store is a man in drag. Does anyone know if the original actress playing the shopgirl quit at the last minute, and Herk Harvey had to get one of his grips to put on a wig and fill in?

haha! i thought the same thing for a long time, but it is a sales lady that actually worked in the dept. store. At least that is what was said in the commentary...
