Why was this Sidney Berger's only film?

Yeah, I can see by his IMDB credits that he was in the remake as well, playing a "cop". But the original and the remake are the only two films to his credit.

Has Sidney ever said why he never acted in more films (and/or tv shows)?

Follow-up:
For about a decade now, Mr. Berger has lived here in Houston, Texas. He is (or was at one time) the head of the theatre department at the University of Houston. He currently supervises Houston's outdoor Shakespeare productions. I saw "Taming of the Shrew", adapted to the Wild West (which I didn't care for) and "Macbeth", adapted to a Samurai setting (which fared much better with me). About a year ago, he was on NPR, being interviewed about the outdoor Shakespeare projects. He is an interesting, good-humored fellow, and a good friend of mine actually had him as a professor once. I'd like to meet him, and it certainly isn't impossible that I could.

thank you for this information! i am always intrigued by little-known actors from good movies that are very old. i always wonder why their resume is brief - did they choose college? a family? another vocation?

i really enjoyed Berger in this film! i would like to meet him, too. he was very, well, 50s romantic in this movie (i know the film was actually dated 1962, but it seemed barely removed from 1950s culture and mannerisms).

another actor i wonder about is Steve Boozer, who played "Chip". aside from IMDB, there is ZERO information on this guy. his performance, though brief, was far from awful, and certainly not bad. i wonder if he is still with us, why he didnt continue acting, and all that.

see my other topic, "Pig".

He couldn't pay his drycleaning bill and his dry cleaner was the producer of this.

Let it be unsaid: insignificance is the locus of true increpation.

He died in February 2013.

I liked him in this role too, he was a rather 'loveable sleazoid'.
I couldn't figure out whether he liked Mary for real or was literally just trying to get in her pants.
