DIfferent title?

IMDB doesn't mention any other titles for this film, but I could swear I saw it under a different name. Anyone else?

As it is, the film's title is completely misleading as it has less to do with the original German silent film than THE LAWNMOWER MAN had to do with King's short story. Some other board members tried to compare it to the original and find similarities, but I am here to tell you that there are NONE.

Oh, wait. This film, too, was in Black and White.

As for the original, some of you would never consider watching a silent film. You really should, especially in time for the Halloween season. It is creepy, atmospheric and paved the way for many horror/expressionist films after it. If you enjoy the visual style of Tim Burton's animated films or even his SLEPPY HOLLOW, check out the original, silent version of THE CABINET OF DR. CALIGARI.

Actually, the original was screened in tints (aqua, violet, etc.)

Without giving anything away, I think it's wrong to say that this movie has nothing in common with the original.
If you think of the original as being only about a madman who keeps a zombified sleepwalker in a box to do his twisted bidding... well... sure... this newer film has none of that... but the original Caligari had more going on than that... in fact all the stuff with the Cesare was smoke and mirrors in the mind of the protagonist... with the real story only becoming clear in the final frames... much as in this film.
