anyone?
Has anyone seen this? Is it anything like the original?
Let's all congratulate us with another cup of tea, a very merry unbirthday to you!

I'm trying to figure that out, too. Doesn't seem likely.
shareNo, it's nothing like the original. The 1920 film is vastly superior. It has a German Expressionistic edge & was basically the world's first horror film/psychological thriller. It paved the way for Fritz Lang's Metropolis & the like. The sixties one is just kind of cheesy & hokey.
shareReally?
I really liked it, I don't think they were trying to be like the 20's version. They just wante the name.
I thought it was good.

It's not related to "The Cabinet Of Dr Caligari" at all...so there's not much point in comparing or contrasting them.
shareit's nothing like the original.
it does, however, kick a monstrous amount of ass. go into it expecting a feature length twilight zone episode and you won't be disappointed.

jigsaw falling into place
there is nothing to explain
It has similarities to the originsl but isn't a direct remake. Both have a main character who is trying to understand what is going on. And the ending is similar though not exactly the same. Both have a surreal look at some points.
