Wonderful choice to have Lazarus appear so bleached out.

He looked like man might look who was, well, back from death.

I can't image this was an easy choice since Barabbas is a religious film and many might be critical that the direction was heading into the horror film genre.

That was my favorite scene.

More bible movies should delve into what happened to Lazarus. I've always been curious about Lazarus as a character. He came back from the dead!

He should show up a lot more in bible adventure movies.

Janet! Donkeys!

I remember seeing this as an eight year old at the Circle Theater in Indy with my mother and aunt when it first came out (at age eight). It has been one of my favorite movies ever since that first viewing. As to the Lazarus scene, I don't recall it being in the film's original release and was added later. In the original release Barabbas just left the Disciples quarters after speaking with them in general and Peter in particular. IMHO opinion, the scene appears to be 'tacked on' when viewing it now. I will say that, as a Christian, I've never seen a Hollywood film that so moved me on a spiritual level.
