The numbers on this IMDB page indicate an $8.5 million production budget and a $76+ million world-wide gross.
These would appear to stem from an entry in the same film's Wikipedia page, dated May 26, 2009. Those numbers are absurd. According to the production-file held at the AMPAS Margaret Herrick Library in Los Angeles, the figure is 500,000 GBP ($1,360,000. in 1961 dollars). I do not know the world-wide gross receipts.

The Wiki page currently lists the number of Greek Army extras appearing as 5000. Production papers in the same collection indicate 2 battalions totaling 1200 men. This would be the maximum seen at any one time. A review of the available call- sheets indicates a maximum number of 600 for a single day's filming of the battle sequences.
