Who was the Carson Guest? Journalist?

Looking for the name of or episode where older gentleman described having his camera lost or stolen and a big cat finding it, guest goes on to read a poem from the cats point of view. Believe it had a line similar to: It was a camera shiny and new took a bite chipped my tooth.
Found it very witty and would like to watch it again. Would guess that it was from the seventies but not sure. Thanks in advance.
