What were some of the best episodes of McHale's Navy?

To some of the die-hard fans out there who loved this series.

What were some of the best episodes of the classic 60's TV-series McHale's Navy?

Although there were some duds, this wonderful series--one of the few my Dad liked to watch with us--has too many to provide a short list.

My first thoughts for you: 1) The Day the War Stood Still - when McHale had to get the Captain to free captured Fuji by convincing him the war had ended. This premise was borrowed by Hogan's Heroes a few years later.

2) There was an episode where Parker disguised himself as a Japanese soldier so he could mail a letter to Fuji's girlfriend.

3) Most of the episodes with Chief Urulu were excellent, including one where Urulu became like a tropical Al Capone and wanted a piece of action from Gruber's vast enterprises.

4) I believe the title is "Alias PT-73" It's about an episode where they used a wreaked PT boat to pose as their own, so they could appear to be at the base when they were out doing something-or-other that Binghamton didn't want.

I suggest just watching them all and deciding for yourself which ones are your favorites. I loved Tim Conway's Mr. Parker, but on going through our DVDs a couple of years ago, we ran into some episodes where his stupidness/clumsiness was overdone and annoying.

Some will tell you the last season when they were in Italy was bad. Overall, it was weaker, but there were some excellent episodes there, including one where they ran a sort-of grand prix race through the streets of the town.

From the sometimes-hated final season, I am fond of the two cousin Guiseppe episodes where McHale and Guiseppe change identities, both intentionally and inadvertently.
