In this episode one of the aliens mentions 'Universes' perhaps an early hint of the Multiverse theory. With regards to the Multiverse theory there is a also shot of the aliens where their mirror images go on for ever being and image with an image.

Perhaps a bright cameraman saw the script and wanted a way to show the Multiverse on screen. Intriguing.
