Missing Episodes ?

Awhile back I was looking at the official Davey and Goliath website, and I noticed that about 3 episodes are listed as no longer in syndication.

Why ? What is it about those 3 episodes that they won't show them anymore ? Are there politically incorrect elements in them ?

in answer to your question yes they are politically incorrect i have most of these eps i believe the ones in question are polka dot tie which suggests racism to some degree and violence in a mugging in watchdogs and ten little indians and something like abandonment i dunno i never remember being scarred from any davey and goliath episode and i have many of these on vhs/ dvd for my little girl and i think it teaches her great moral values-i even have the watchdogs ep and there is nothing too violent about it maybe its just since its the evangelical church deal they have much higher standards or maybe its just society today

According to the official website, the 3 episodes that they will no longer show are:

The Gang: Davey gets thrown out of the Jickets club because of a disagreement with other club members.

The Watchdogs: Davey witnesses a robbery, but doesn't want to get involved until Officer Dan and Mr. Hansen succeed in teaching Davey the real meaning of the Golden Rule.

Ten Little Indians: Davey fears parental rejection when he doesn't make the track team.

I hope that ultimately these will come out on DVD !

The only one of those I remember is about the gang, the 'Jickets' (and wasn't that the name of a baseball team Davey was also on; maybe in his universe a neighborhood gets up their own team and club). But expectedly, Davey is faced with something like going along with an illegal activity or an unjust rule of the gang/club, or of opposing the leader directly. The leader wore some type of tall headgear, something like a mitre. The gang split into 2 factions and they had a big fight, and the leader was knocked down and lost that big headpiece, and the music played made it sould like Caesar had just been assassinated... rather overdone, to say the least. Then Davey goes home and his mom looks at his tattered clothes, maybe even blood, and says, "Davey Hanson-- you've been in a fight!" I don't remember clearly, but it must be that Davey explains the split of that club and why he and some others thought they had to fight in opposition to the leader and his 'loyal subjects,' and his parents agree, and perhaps say they're proud that he fought for what was right. So that's the reason it's too politically incorrect to put on the air or on DVD's any more; the idea of encouraging physical violence among kids because they thing they're "right."

some of these episodes haven't been seen in years and I fondly remember the episode where Davey was involved in a gang(a social relevant for its time)and somewhere down the line Davey gets into fight and goes home with his clothes all torned up and face bloodied. Basically,Davey stood up for what he thought was right and having his faithful and sometimes spiritual dog behind him in times of trouble and dispair.

I do recall seeing "Davey and Goliath" every Sunday morning around 6AM(In North Carolina where it played for years on station WTVD-TV in Durham,NC and it was followed by other children's based educational and informative shows like,"The Herald of Truth","Jot","Captain Noah",and "Curious Kaleidoscope").

I actually have rare copies of the gang and polka dot tie which are next to impossible to find and mine are pretty nice too. As for ten little indians unless this lost eps finds its way out of the vault we may never see it.

I wonder if these three episodes were intended to be part of the proposed DVD release of DAVEY AND GOLIATH: THE LOST EPISODES. (Which appears to be lost in limbo.) Reading this post, I had to smile at the thought of Davey and Goliath ever being found politically incorrect. How times have changed.
