Would someone write a more coherent plot summary?

I wanted to see what this movie was about, but the plot summary on this page is not very well written. Is there anyone out there that could sum it up better?

Erm.... the plot summary seems pretty concise from where I'm sitting. Did you read the whole thing (by clicking the more button?)? Also there are page upon page of great user comments which discuss/explain what the film is about too.

Hope that helps.

You're right in that this reads like a mess, although it is actually quite accurate. Anyway I found this synopsis somewhere:

Viridiana is a novice on the verge of taking her vows when she visits her uncle Don Jaime's farm. Still pining for his wife who died on their wedding night, Don Jaime is struck by Viridiana's resemblance to her. He drugs Viridiana and attempts to rape her. Later on Don Jaime confesses to her what he tried to do, but soon hangs himself, humiliated by his own atrocious behavior. Viridiana inherits his farm and in an act of charity, opens it up to a marauding troupe of beggars. To her dismay, they ruin the main house in a wild orgy culminating in a gross parody of the Last Supper.

Hope that helps.

As in any Buñuel film, there's MUCH, MUCH MORE in the film than the plot. You've gotta just read the hints Buñuel puts. I'm pretty sure you're gonna enjoy it very much :).

The plot summary really made me mad. It seems to be one big spoiler. It is like some of those film trailers where they show every pertinent scene and once you have seen the trailer the film has been ruined. That is not a summary; it is a step-by-step of the events that you should not know before watching the movie!

You're so right. Next time you don't read it before.
