Anyone Else Spot Rodan the Flying Monster in This Movie?

Through the miracle of stock footage, Rodan the Flying Monster can be briefly spotted at 1:06:15 (peeking over a hill), and flying at 1:07:11, 1:07:27, and 1:07:40.

Just for the record.

Yeah, I saw Rodan and got a chuckle out of the Morlock costumes which looked really seedy, as though they hadn't been dusted off since George Pal chucked them into storage.

Having just tuned in to it on TCM I must have missed the Rodan part but I was in time to catch the Morlock costumes. I'll have to chack to see when the movie "The Time Machine" was made to see who was first to use them.

Rodan also makes an early appearance right after the two men arrive on the moon.

Well how about that. I did not miss Rodan after all. I also had time to find out that Time Machine was made in 1960 and this movie in 1961.

I liked the volcano scenes. I guess a lot of those were borrowed scenes too.

Thought it was a odd touch to see Rodan but cool. Volcano sequence was also a nice touch.

Yes, two parts of the film where Rodan makes a stock-footage appearance -- soon after the men arrive on the comet, and later on during the volcanic eruption.

What's weird is that neither of our heroes made much out of seeing him, particularly given the fact he was the first monster they encountered. The first time the two guys see him one says something like "Have you ever seen a bird like that before?", the other says "No", then they go about picking up sticks for firewood. Pretty blasé, all things considered. But then Rodan didn't get to do anything in this film except fly back and forth and peek over a hill, which was the funniest sequence in the movie.

It's running on GET TV now and a friend just called me and said he just saw Rodan in the film.
