DVD and Blu-ray availability (as of 2/3/14)

February 3, 2014:

As of this date, Two Rode Together is or will be available on DVD and Blu-ray, respectively. Details:

DVD: The film has been released as part of a box set from the TCM Vault Collection called "John Ford: The Columbia Films Collection". The set includes three films new to DVD -- Two Rode Together, Gideon's Day/Gideon of Scotland Yard and The Whole Town's Talking -- plus two long available separately, The Long Gray Line and The Last Hurrah.

Except for those last two none of the others is available singly. However, on past practice, Columbia will probably release them individually on their MOD Sony Choice Collection line within a year or so.

The set retails for $59.99 (you can find discounts or sales) and is available only at tcm.com or moviesunlimited.com. It includes introductions by Leonard Maltin and Ben Mankiwicz and other extras.

Blu-ray: Twilight Time will release Two Rode Together on Blu-ray on May 13, 2014. Price is $29.95 and the disc is Region 0. Like all TT releases it will be available exclusively from SAE (screenarchives.com) and will be in a limited edition of 3000. Since TT discs are sold only by SAE there are never any discounts or sales. No other details as yet, but TT discs always include an isolated music track and a booklet about the film. Available for pre-order approximately 25 days before its release date (around mid-April).

Further information will be posted here as it becomes known.

Additional information: The Two Rode Together Blu-ray is available for pre-order as of 4/22/14. Release date is May 13, 2014. Here are the details from the SAE page:

Two Rode Together (1961) offers the superb James Stewart’s first appearance in a film from the legendary director John Ford (the pair would go on to the likes of The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance). The result is a tough revisionist Western about a cynical frontier marshal (Stewart) who teams with a cavalry officer (Richard Widmark) to rescue a group of long-held white captives from a band of redoubtable Comanche. Also starring Shirley Jones, Linda Cristal, Andy Devine, and John McIntire, and featuring a score by George Duning.
