Dancing in the aisles

Saw it when I was 10 at the old Hilltop Theatre in Tujunga, CA. It was a double feature with Mysterious Island which is the movie I wanted to see. The theater was packed with teens and during the songs they left their seats and danced in the aisles. At least twice the movie was stopped and the manager got on stage and warned the teens to stop dancing.

How neat is that...dancing in the aisles. I would have thought the theater manager would have encouraged it...free publicity for him.

I believe you had have a licence for allowing people to dance.
In the late 70s I used to go to a bar in Calabassas Ca. called the Sundanced Saloon that had a rocking house band and whenever people started to dance the management would stop them. I couldn't understand why but I later learned that they weren't licence for dancing

I thought P.E.T.A. meant People Eating Tasty Animals
