Bach's cello piece

Thanks in part to Bergman's use of chamber music, I've taken an interest in Bach's cello suites. But before I make a purchase, I'd like to know just what piece Bergman used in Through a Glass Darkly. Does anyone here know the title of it?

i'm not sure of this, so you better check it yourself (it is said in the initial credits, before the film starts), but i think it is bach's suite number 2 in d-minor for cello.

i found some info about it here: http://www.classiccat.net/bach_js/1008.htm

i hope this helps

Thank you very much!

I do remember seeing the piece's title in the opening credits, but I don't own the movie ('twas a rental that I saw).

Your right, its the sarabande movement of Bach's cello suite.

The Sarabande movement from Cello Suite No.2 in D Minor BWV 1008 as played by Erling Blondal Bengtsson

There is a two disc cd of six of Bach's cello suites played by Yo-Yo Ma that is excellent. These two cd's contain Suite #2 in D Minor as well. Check that one out too.
