Excellent movie

This is a wonderful movie. Very touching portrayal by Geraldine Page.
Laurence Harvey is excellent in his part as well. Can you believe I
can't find Summer and Smoke in book form at my local libraries (3) in a
city of well over 100,000? Especially in a university town?
Thankfully one has the VHS copy of the movie. Why can't we see such fine films on TV? If only Turner Classic Movies or other movie channels would. It would be nice to have a Tennessee Williams Festival.

I just saw the play at the Hartford Stage with Amanda Plummer and wanted to come read about the movie version. Not much here. Too bad. Excellent play and performances.

It's a dirty job,but I pay clean money for it.

Check out the movie, it's taught and gripping. Actors really get the emotions across.

Summer and Smoke will be shown on Turner Classic Movies on January 13, 2008 at 10:00 PM and also on February 28, 2008 at 4:00 AM. I believe these are Central Times, either that or Eastern time. Check the TCM website, type in "Summer and Smoke" and it will tell you when it is playing.

Unfortunately, the library DVD stopped almost at the end of the movie. I really enjoyed it, this is the fourth film that I have seen with Rita M. I think all the actors did a great job.
