sharelouie, you posted this over four years ago, and i can't believe no one has replied! you have a very keen eye to even pick this up! i am a vertigo fanatic as well as a fanatical observer of all jewelry both in life and art, so i had to check this out.
while the two necklaces are too eerily similar to be a coincidence in my opinion, i believe (but could be totally wrong) they are different necklaces for these two reasons:
1. judy's necklace in vertigo has open filigree goldwork around the red stone while mrs. ewell's necklace appears to be closed, solid embossed metal.
2. the three drops on the vertigo necklace are a bit longer than the summer and smoke necklace.
i do wonder why they looked so identical at first glance. and now i wonder where that vertigo necklace is today. i would love to know and *gasp* own it!
