Terribly Mistaken Description, Time Warner

After seeing the movie, would you agree on this one sentence description in TW cable's guide: "A rape victim is saved from suicide in Manhattan by a simpleminded mechanic who gives her love."???!!!

The Dish Network on-screen guide reads the same way. It bothers me too.

I have Comcast (Xfinity) and their onscreen guide is notoriously inaccurate and unreliable.

A particular pet peeve of mine is when they rate a film one star and then include a description stating how good the movie is. Why even bother to provide ratings? Their synopsis are frequently incorrect as well.

If by "gives her love", they mean "kidnap and attempt to drunkenly rape", then yes, it's an accurate description.

Exactly! Maybe the tyke who wrote this and other erroneous movie descriptions does so by fast forwarding the DVD and gleaning a "good enough" summary. They should simply use IMDb's!!
