Longer Print Out There ??

The edition of The Snake Woman that I have jumps around, starts cold, and is clearly an edit with cuts.

Are there any longer prints available?

Not much info out there on this one.

reply

Most prints seem to be taken from the 1991 US VHS release which has inserted a 'freeze frame' title at the very front (in order to put on a new copywrite). In the original film i assume that there was live action over the main title rather than a freeze frame.

Is this on DVD?

I got it on a DVD with three other films--I BURY THE LIVING, 4 SKULLS OF JONATHAN DRAKE, and some other oddity--for $5 on Amazon!

reply

Great looking prints of these films on that release, especially I Bury the Living is impressive since it always looked so miserable before. Geoffrey Denton is good in the otherwise very silly The Snake Woman.

Watching it on streaming Amazon now. Nostalgic sixties Brit flick.

Version on Comet TV 2016 has narration and live action during opening credits.
Seems to have a 1960 copyright added, though 1961was also visible.

I'm watching it on COMET right now! I hate that we don't have an on-screen schedule, so I never know what's going to be shown.

I should have had a blank tape ready! COMET comes up with some rather obscure films.
