I think people rated this low because they think they are supposed to... it being an Ed Wood film, and it being on MST3K.
But if this is one of the worst movies you've ever seen, then you haven't seen many movies. It is amateurish, yes, but is it unwatchable trash? Not even close.

Ed Wood really wasn't that worse then most b-movie directors of the time. What made him 'special' is that he brought his own unique preoccupations into his projects.

Well, no. He was terrible at every aspect of film except acting, and he didn't even have enough sense to do that more than once. I love him and his movies but you're delusional if you think he's anything other than a terrible filmmaker.
