Revolver used in movie

The revolver that Conrad Phillips was using was a seven shot Russian Nagant M1895 used from 1895 into the 50's. However the rounds that Granger dropped into the dentists bowl were not the correct 7.62 x 38R used in that firearm. They looked like maybe the 7.62 X 25 used in the eastern block Tokarevs and CZ's.
Nitpicky I know but I own one and was excited to see in in the movie.

Not that anyone else would be interested, but, this revolver is the only one I have seen that can be quietened by the use of a silencer as the barrel to cylinder gap is sealed on firing. It would have been more authentic for Laurence Harvey to have used this revolver in the Manchurian Candidate than the Smith and Wesson which could not be suppressed.
