Bloody marvellous!!

Ah yes,
Another gem of British cinema...

As I was just saying to my dear, dear chum Dickie Attenborough only the other day; "Dickie old man, that Tony Hancock film is only bloody marvellous... only bloody marvellous..."

I'm afraid you'll have to excuse me chaps... I appear to have.... something in my eye.... (sniff)

Yes, an excellent film:

"But your paintings are so child-like."
"Yes, that's because I paint like a child."

Hancock rejecting Galton & Simpson as his script writers for future films was a disaster! They know how to weave intricate plots with plenty of comic set pieces and classic one-liners. Even their Steptoe & son films are a cut above the usual adapted from TV dross of the time.
