The 'C' word

I noticed the PC police censored out Poiter saying *beep* white shoes, except the second time he said it. But they allowed Ruby Dee's line of "that's the way the cracker crumbles" - a reference to White people's ways. Typical double-standard when liberals are involved.

It wasn't censored in the version I saw. Is it possible you're over-generalizing a little?

Janet! Donkeys!

reply

Cracker doesn't carry the same weight as f*g or especially ni***r. These word are filled with more venom than cracker.

Calling someone a cracker would likely get you laughed at. Calling someone a f*g/ni***r might get you punched.

Got to love when people post stuff without explaining what the hell they are talking about. Who censored the line "faggety white shoes" where?

reply

Fag---ty wasn't censored when I saw it but what "C" word are you referring to? Cracker? These words are censored on this web site but not in the film. I used the expression *beep* and span and it was beeped....

The amount of indignity and criminal activity that has been piled on Black People over the last couple (or more) of centuries I would think would allow a socially conscious, forward thinking film from 1961 to vent some of the anger over all the demeaning treatment these people have endured should be understood.
