When the family went out to the house for the first time why was Lena acting like she is seeing the house for the first time? When she told Ruth about the house it seemed like she had seen the house especially when Ruth asked if there was a lot of sunshine and Lena said there was.

Perhaps she was excited to show the whole family the house. I'm sure that even if she had seen it once, there were things she hadn't really noticed the first time.
