You start with 520 meters of copper coil. Three-quarters of it is cut off. This leaves 130 meters. Four-fifths of that is cut off. That leaves 26 meters. The final question is, "How many centimeters of wire are left on the roll?" Answer: 2600 since there are 100 cm in a meter (26 X 100).
Antonietta and Domenico both answered 24, which was incorrect. They still were hired, which may have been just another absurd element to the entire bizarre hiring process.
He also said they had 1 hour to do this question. This is something that should probably take 5 minutes at most.
