Does he stay?

Does he stay??? I believe he does...although the end of the movie is not totally clear..he walks away with Webb's dog, the assaulted woman..and looks like he thinks enough in town is good to stay..but, I wonder given what the woman said about the treatment she got from many in the town, the open question about the $11K not recovered that the townsman raised..the supposed harsh treatment he gave his posse some people were talking about, the fact that the Army captain and victim's brother were still in town..he should not pull out stakes, take the gal and dog and leave town for a fresh start...
