Million Dollar Movie

For many years WOR Channel 9 used to run this on the Million Dollar Movie on Christmas night. They would always say "as our Christmas gift to you tonight's film will be shown with limited interruptions, which was true.

Very nice little tidbit. Thanks for sharing!

After reading this, my first thought was that it's a cute memory to have now, yes. But, we are so extremely individualistic today, that most of us would be watching a DVD or streaming content online at our own convenience. I don't know if it's the nostalgia that makes me mourn this change, or if it really is that I truly prefer the past. But, whatever the case may be, that is the sad thing about today, as far as TV and movies are concerned---people rarely get excited and wait with gleeful anticipation for anything anymore---not even a movie. Hence the ever-evolving trend towards individualism coupled with the instant gratification of online streaming, etc. I'll admit I'm guilty of it too, but that's only because the good'ol movies of the past, like POM scarcely show on TV anymore. TCM is about the only exception.

Please excuse typos/funny wording; I use speech-recognition that doesn't always recognize!
