Does this movie have the trippy beginning?

Is this the Poe-based film with the psychedelic designs in the opening scenes? I remember watching some Poe-based films in school and I can't remember which starts with that scene. Thanks.

I know this post is really old but yes, you're right! It had what looked like the marble water painting with everything swirling into itself

I love all the colors that look like paint flowing together. Truly an iconic opening sequence.

Watching this again tonight, the opening "psychedelic" sequence seems to me that it could have inspired the opening sequence of the TV series "ULTRA MAN".

I think 'The Masque of the Red Death' is the film you may be thinking of. That's another in the Poe and Roger Corman and Vincent Price series of horrors in the early 1960s.

No, this particular PATP is the one with the beginning he describes.

Thanks. I've just checked my DVD as well for this film. Of course the 'Pendulum' intro is more trippy than the 'Masque' intro now I think about it. Makes me think I must have been on a trip when I suggested otherwise.

Not trippy, but INCREDIBLE on a 4K TV, ever see the end credits to the recent Natalie Portman film “Annihilation”? Check this out:

Thanks again. That is stunning. I haven't experienced 4K TV. So I can't see the full HD effect.
