1953 So Big Mansion of possible father in law

I think the 1939 reference is wrong but the 1959 sighting is on the mark.

The Young Philadelphians needs to be added to my YouTube Video. By the way, the house depicted in this story also has scenes involving exteriors. Those were shot at the Will Rogers Home off Sunset Blvd. in the Pacific Palisades section of Los Angeles. Rogers polo field is still there and you can watch polo games most every weekend, just for the price of parking at the state park.

Okay, maybe not a staircase, but how about music? I just watched the movie "Johnny Belinda" the other night, and it's a great example of the old Warner Bros recycling machine at work. Max Steiner's beautiful-lilting musical refrain, "Belinda's Theme" which is used throughout the movie "Johnny Belinda", is also the same beautiful-lilting musical refrain, used throughout the movie "Parrish." W.B. repeatedly used songs they owned the rights to, over and over in different films. Songs like, "Perfidia", "I'll String Along With You", "You Must Of Been A Beautiful Baby", and the Love Theme from "Now Voyager", just to mention a few.

I also love that the interior of the American Bookstore in ROME ADVENTURE is the River City Library where Marion the Librarian worked in THE MUSIC MAN.

Thanks for this thread, it's all fascinating info. Now I know I'm not mis-hearing things. I've often thought a piece of film music was familiar, now I know why! I suspected music was recycled in different films, and thanks for the confirmation. Also love the info about the staircase and other locations. Thumbs up! :)

"Belinda's Theme" is not used in Parrish. Steiner wasn't above recycling his music (his nautical theme from A Stolen Life, shows up again in A Summer Place, for example, and Now, Voyager's "It Can't Be Wrong" in Mildred Pierce) but the music in Parrish is not from Johnny Belinda.
