Am I the only one to notice that the girl from California, and the girl from Boston had unmistakable British accents? Great movie, but this was ever present for me.

shareI guess Hayley was not good with any accents other than her own. It never really bothered me. It's better to hear someone talk in their own accent, even if it isn't the right one, than it is to hear someone use the right accent and have it sound phony.
shareYou just have to suspend disbelief, as regards her (Haley's) pronunciation. It isn't that hard. Have to do the same thing for Dick Van Dyke's character in "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang."
Van Dyke just chose not to attempt an English accent in that film. It doesn't really detract from it.
I'll be honest. I never even realized he didn't use an accent.
Unlike Kevin Costner who tried in Robin Hood and then just gave up. Ergo Robin changes accents mid movie.
