Blu Ray versions

Has anyone viewed this great western on Blu ray yet?. The German version which I purchased recently is very disappointing. It maybe superior to the numerous DVD versions available but overall it was a poor transfer and I should have known because of the low price offered. However, as we speak the Region 1 version is available and on Dec 5th the Region 2 version arrives. Anyone care to comment?
