Pina Pellicer

I just finished watching this film and was impressed with the acting by Pina Pellicer. Her role was very believable and her beauty was unique. I was sad to read afterwards, she soon after committed suicide.

I know...that is sad and strange...I think Brando blew her mind...I read somewhere that her and Brando were "foolin' around" during film production.

Greetings,

Odd, I actually think she looked too young. Particularly in the first scene in Malden's home.

Pina was 24 years old when she made One-eyed Jacks.

She captivated me at a young age. That petite frame and that mellow, deep, soothing voice. The beauty; the trusting vulnerability.

I liked her. She wasn't a great beauty but there's a nobility about her and a tragic vulnerability that proved to be true in real life. (her suicide)

Loved her sensitive work in this, and the direct, intelligent manner she possesses in her scenes with Brando; although young, Louisa's the mature presence and voice of reason for Rio, and Pellicer does a great job conveying these character traits.

I remember reading she had Brando's baby, but there was some difficulty with him about admitting fatherhood.

Anyone else know about that?
