Where does this rank in your Wilders?

1. Sunset Boulevard
2. Some Like it Hot
3. One, Two, Three
4. The Apartment
5. Stalag 17

I'm very much enjoying working through his filmogrophy; he's quickly becoming one of my favorite directors.

Ed Norton is Tyler Durden and Rosebud is the sled.

1. Sunset Blvd.
2. The Apartment
3. Some Like It Hot
4. Ace in the Hole
5. One Two Three
6. Double Indemnity
7. The Seven Year Itch
8. Stalag 17
9. The Lost Weekend

The first two are very close and I like (some love) all of the nine films of his I have seen.

My three favorite films (order changes): Vertigo, Taxi Driver, and 2001: A Space Odyssey

Of the 27 films he directed, there are only three I haven't seen: Mauvaise graine (Bad Blood) (1934), the only film he directed (actually co-directed) in Germany; Fedora (1978); and Buddy, Buddy (1981).

Here are my Top Ten:
1. The Apartment (1960)
2. Sunset Blvd. (1950)
3. Some Like It Hot (1959)
4. One, Two, Three (1961)
5. The Major and the Minor (1942)
6. Witness for the Prosecution (1957)
7. Stalag 17 (1953)
8. Five Graves to Cairo (1943)
9. Double Indemnity (1944)
10. The Lost Weekend (1945)

And I dearly love Midnight (1939), but he only wrote that one.

I think this may be my favourite. If I'm being analytical and listing what I think are his best films, it's maybe a bit lower, but...well, here are my top ten favourites by Wilder.

1. One, Two, Three
2. Double Indemnity
3. The Apartment
4. Sunset Blvd.
5. The Lost Weekend
6. Stalag 17
7. Ace in the Hole
8. Witness for the Prosecution
9. Sabrina
10. Some Like it Hot

I haven't seen all of Wilder's films, but I'd put "One, Two, Three" right there with any of his other comedies. It's highly entertaining. Easily one of the funniest films of its time, and a lot funnier than most "comedies" these days.

I rank it Number 1.

I rank it as Wilder's best pure comedy. It battles The Apartment for number one in my rankings but I would put the 1960 Oscar winner in the seriocomedy or comedy-drama categories instead of a pure comedy.

Wilder's made so many terrific ones it's hard to rank them; the only one that gave me no hesitation was my top choice, which I consider the best American film of the 1960s. I have yet to see a bad movie of his.

I'm glad I gave One, Two, Three a second go - it bored me to distraction the first time I watched, but I had a great time seeing it again. One has to be in the right mood to enjoy this kind of picture, I guess.

I'd put Avanti at the top. I think it's the most beautiful rom com.

I'd follow that up with, in no particular order: The Apartment, 1-2-3, Some like it hot, The private life of Sherlock Holmes, Double indemnity, Ace in the hole. All cracking movies.
