Peter Jackson to direct Mortha remake!
sweet cant wait.
shareMothra does not need a remake-it is good no matter what or years have passed...
sharemothra sucked @$$
shareflyer333555 is right -- Mothra does not need a remake. Especially from Peter Jackson, after his overhyped and overpraised screw-up of KING KONG. Why doesn't he get an original idea? Somehow Mothra attacking Wellington doesn't grab you. Who'd notice?
shareYou may not agree, but in my opinion, Jackson's Kong is a masterpiece.
shareI don't agree at all -- Jackson's Kong was better than the '76 travesty, but it would have been hard not to have been -- but we're all entitled to our own opinions, and I respect yours. It's when people get nasty and personal about the expression of what are, after all, opinions, not facts, that these boards can sometimes turn bad.
Anyway, I'd forgotten all about this topic until now. And I still hope there's no remake of Mosura/Mothra, by Jackson or anyone else. Certainly not a western remake. Remember the disaster that was the Amercian Godzilla of 1998? This is something best left to the original authors, and besides, there's already been a Japanese remake of Mothra, which should be more than enough.
What are you 3 saying???????!!!!!!!!!!! How do you know Mothra does'nt need a remake? If Peter Jackson spiced up Mothra some, and made a Mothra remake. It could make it to the Oscars. Or even better! The Cannes Film Festival!
shareLOL! The Oscars or The Canne Film Festival. Not as Best Film contender, that's for sure!
shareThis film doesn't need a remake; it's fine the way it is.

The original Mothra was a very creative little movie bogged down by what I imagine was a small budget and resulting cheap special effects. It's a lovely movie that deserved better.
I was always fascinated by this movie. The notion of turning something as beautiful and delicate as a moth into a monster capable of causing so much destruction is fascinating.
Of course, the Peanuts who played the twin fairies were--after Mothra herself--- the best part of the movie and that will be a hard act to follow. They were charming and played the role so perfectly.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Don't forget your tsvets!
A remake? of Mothra? By Peter Jackson???
Am I on anything right now?
