I'm Sure I'm Not The Only One

I can laugh about it today but back when I was around 5 or 6 years old I watched MOTHRA on tv and afterwards I had a fear of moths and butterflies. It lasted a about a year and drove my mother crazy. Just something I thought I'd share.

Interesting. I was around that age when I first saw Mothra. That never happened to me. I liked Mothra so much that I became fascinated by moths, butterflies and caterpillars and would catch them and try to keep them as pets [as my own personal Mothra, so-to-speak].

I never saw it until I was almost thirty, and then I couldn't get enough of it. I'd had a copy of Keta Stewart's famous butterfly psychedelic poster on my wall for ages, and I thought what could be nicer than to worship a giant butterfly.

Don't forget your tsvets!

Mothra might have been the reason I had a bug fetish for a while.

I've had a lifelong fear of moths for as long as I can remember. I don't really know why. Butterflies don't bother me, but moths terrify me. So I was reluctant to even watch this movie lol. But I watched it tonight and enjoyed it, though the scenes where Mothra was a fully-developed moth still gave me shivers. If I saw something like that in real life i'd probably die of a heart attack on the spot lol. Not because it's a giant monster but because it's a giant moth. 
