This film deserves a better DVD

The DVD for this film has no special features that I know of and I wish Wallach would do a commentary for a special edition.

The same can be said about many of Monroe's films. I saw Clash By Night on DVD and was surprised there was no commentary or Special Features.

Are you guys thinking what I'm thinking? (Criterion?)

Almost anything would be better. I hate to say it but Eli Wallach isn't going to be with us for much longer and we're going to lose some unique insight on this film when he passes. He probably got some great stories to tell (I also wish he did a commentary for the Good, the Bad and the Ugly with Eastwood but that's a whole other story).

Why can't the negative be cleaned up and put onto blu-ray? The film is beautiful and if it was reconditioned it could be quite wonderful.

I forgot how arresting it was. It's almost ethereal. Miller is a great writer and I'm sure he wrote this part for Marilyn. She is exquisite and also so extremely sad.

I can't quite analise this film as it is too personal - but that is to its credit.

I'm sure it can be.
