Psychoactive drug in mask? gender specific?

okay, let me say first that this is a silly little idea of mine, but i want to know if anyone else thought of this .... is it just possible that in the mask a psychoactive substance, specific to men only, has been imbued? that is, can it be that there might be a hidden needle inside, coated with potent toxin? or just soaked with a chemical? yes, it would be over 3000 years old.....also: maybe the hallucinegen only affects people with hidden, negative desires, thus the woman sees nothing- i like this movie, i don't need to qualify the events mind you....i just want to know if you ever thought the same thing.
