New widescreen DVD on January 20th, 2009

Retromedia, a small DVD label that has restored several sword and sandal films to their original widescreen glory, has now announced SAMSON AND THE 7 MIRACLES (that is exactly how the title is listed at Amazon.com--if you type in the longer title SAMSON AND THE 7 MIRACLES OF THE WORLD, you may only see two panned-and-scanned budgie versions that have been on the market for a while).

The new Retromedia DVD of SAMSON AND THE 7 MIRACLES is scheduled for a street date of January 20th, 2009. The film will appear in a widescreen (2:35-1) transfer, which will hopefully be enhanced for 16X9 TV.

The disc will reportedly contain a co-feature, ALI BABA AND THE SEVEN SARACENS, starring Gordon Mitchell.
