Do you think DD's character was a non-virgin, or at least 'experienced'?

Because she looked like she was most definitely considering giving it up to Rock when he was in her spare room and she went out to get champagne. Unlike in some of her other movie roles, there was no dithering or nervous tee-heeing!

I'm not sure about her but by modern standards Webster is a rapist by fraud.

I agree that it seemed like she was going to give it up to Rock. She seemed a bit prudish at first, yet not too prudish to help "Dr. Tyler" overcome his lack of confidence . My guess is that she was fairly inexperienced before meeting Mr. Webster.

Groucho Marx famously quipped about Hollywood, "I've been here so long, I can remember Doris Day before she was a virgin!"

Down these mean streets a man must go who is not himself mean..neither tarnished nor afraid..

reply

It wasn't Groucho Marx, it was Oscar Levant.

They way that Rock Hudson was playing his character in this, she had to make all the running.

reply

I think she had some experience. When she kissed Jerry Webster on the beach, it came naturally to her.
