The most beautiful film about the life of Christ

the music for one, is so inspired...the best movie about Jesus I've seen. Jeffery Hunter is amazing.

I think this is the only film I've seen so far where it shows Jesus. Ben-Hur does a magnificent job of not showing Jesus and yet he is still very central to the film. King of Kings is a beautiful looking film and the cast is very good. I can't really compare Jeffrey Hunter to any other actor who played Jesus because I haven't seen them. Unless we are counting Barack Obama. Hunter's performance is effective but there were times it felt like he was just reciting lines. Overall, the cast is very good, my favorite probably Rip Torn as Judas and the most interesting was Lucius played by Ron Randell. Worth watching but I doubt I would watch it again. 7/10

I felt like the filmed lack the spectacle of other Biblical epics of the same era. Especially noticeable in the lead up to the crucifixion. It felt as if there were maybe a few people in the streets watching when it was one of the most historical and written about events of the time. That aside, I felt like there were some good performances from the villains in the movie, like Brigid Bazlen as Salome and Frank Thring as Herod who also played Pontius Pilate in Ben-Hur.
