Wow! First viewing...must say!


What a great movie. All these actors brought their A-games to this. Monty Clift owned his scene, too. I think I was holding my breath through his entire testimony. That nervous energy was very good. Great casting choice there...given his history.

But the best performance was the lawyer for Lancaster! I'd never seen him in anything before...I certainly hope he got some recognition for that performance...it was amazing.

The lawyer, Hans Rolfe, was played Maximillan Schell who won the Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role. Not bad for someone billed 6th in the cast.
Simply put he was spellbinding!
