question about the end SPOILERS

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

I have this film on VHS and have watched it lots of times.
One detail I had previously not noticed was when the fascist prisoners are rounded up at the end.

There is some sort of sign in German mentioning partisans in the filed where the prisoners are placed.
I wonder if this place is meant to have been a place where partisan prisoners had been shot and was therefore chosen as a place to do the same to fascist prisoners? ,similar incidents happened in Italy after all.

Nope, it's a warning sign, that beyond this sign are partisan activities and soldiers should keep their weapons ready.
