inspiration for DR WHO 'INFERNO'?

Watching this again I wondered if it inspired the fascist part of the DR WHO 1970s episode "INFERNO".

If you don't know the DR WHO episode it is based on the idea that in an alternative time line Britain lost World War 11 and there was a fascist coup in 1943 and Britain became a fascist state with British fascists leading a government allied to the axis.

As much as I love IT HAPPENED HERE there are things that annoy me,everyone in the film keeps talking about England instead of Britain so is this a slip up or are we meant to assume that Scotland, and Wales are not occupied (of course they are,how could they not be?)
The nurse is meant to be Irish but nobody says what happened there?

But I carp too much, the detail in this film is stunning, watch the scene where she goes to the fascist party, not government run employment centre, the posters on the wall are copies of posters from occupied europe but changed to an occupied Britain.

Some Daily Mail readers might secretly dream of a fascist Britain but they would find it too much like hard work I think.
