William Shatner did a good job with this movie. I also think the excellent acting job by Leo Gordon is worthy of mentioning. Leo Gordon normally plays the bad guy role this movie showed he has a good range of talents. See Leo Gordon also In the Night of the Grizzly.

There's no surprise this movie had a hard time being screened in the US when it was made, even though it has a sympathetic white character, Tom McDaniel, at the core of its plot. Confronting the brutal realities of US history still is something that far too many don't want to or refuse to do.
